How to conduct a discharge test with DC Load Bank PITE3980 (with DAC)

Here is a step-by-step guide to show you how to set the DC Load Bank PITE3980 correctly and conduct a discharge test. Before starting, there are some points below that need to be checked first:

  • The power supply cable is wired correctly, normally AC 110V-120V, 50-60Hz or AC 220V-240V, 50-60Hz

  • The discharge cable is wired correctly.

  • The voltage test cable is wired correctly.

  • The DAC is wired correctly.

If you are not sure about how to wire these parts or check them, please contact us for support. Once all those points are checked, now you can follow the instructions to proceed:

1. Turn on the DC Load Bank PITE3980, then you would see the product model and firmware information as below. For high voltage and current models, there are circuit breakers at the rear side, please check, if any, turn it on before you start the discharging. Once the breakers are turned on, the fans would start working, it may be a little noisy.

2. After show the product information for few seconds, it would show the Menu automatically, Click "Discharge".

3. Click "DIS test".

4. Set battery string number as you like.

5. Enter the key parameters based on your applications:

  • Strg volt: String Voltage

  • Cell volt: Cell Voltage

  • Cell Qty: Cell Quantity in total connected to DAC

  • DIS I: Discharge Current

6. Set the key parameters to allow the DC Load Bank PITE3980 automatically end the test, when any of these conditions is met

  • Strg end U: String Voltage End

  • Cell end U: Cell Voltage End

  • DIS Cap: Discharge Capacity End

  • DIS time: Discharge Time End

7. Set the serial number of the battery pack to start from the positive pole or the negative pole, "-" means start from negative and "+" means start from positive

8. Start discharge, depends on your setting, it may take 1-8 minute for the discharge current to increase safely to your presetting, like if your setting is 100A, it may take 1 minute, if 600A, it may take about 6 minutes.

To end the discharge test, you can click "Esc" to end it manually, or it would end automatically, when any of the conditions in Step 6 is met.
